The importance of Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Co-ordination has highlighted the need to separate the various disciplines into individual packages within the management brief to achieve quality control and programme deadlines. In order to synchronise the Commissioning of the packages and interdependencies, a Commissioning Manager is required.

As Commissioning is the natural link between Construction and Building Maintenance, the Commissioning Manager is best placed to develop the Facilities Management (FM) deliverables required through Maintainability reviews and development of the FM systems prior to handover.
